Wire Assemblies

A wire assembly (sometimes called a wire harness) encases various cables to provide power and connectivity to electrical systems. The load capacity of a wire assembly depends on the number and size of the encapsulated cables.

Wire Assembly vs. Cable Assembly

As mentioned above, a wire assembly (or wire harness) is a collection of cables contained in a protective casing. A cable assembly is similar, but its external casing is durable enough to protect the cables from short-circuiting due to external environmental threats like:

  • Heat
  • Cold
  • Moisture
  • Dirt and dust
  • Friction
